Business Portfolio 2026
BUSINESS
MANAGEMENT (H)
This class aims to introduce students to the world of business by giving them the chance to tackle it firsthand through multiple student-led projects. Students must work collaboratively to meet deadlines, completing these tasks while developing key skills along the way—including public speaking, market analysis, statistical thinking, and confidence in their ideas.
STUDENT AUTONOMY
Students in the class have full autonomy over how they manage themselves and proceed with their projects. This responsibility allows them to experience the world of business and entrepreneurship as authentically as possible.
Student Ventures
Our Projects
Strategic initiatives driven and executed entirely by honors students.
Haunted Trail
A student developed, led, funded, and produced haunted house serves as a testament to the principles of business management. Throughout the project, students explored the various roles available to them and divided into teams to systematically achieve goals according to self-designed metrics.
Halloween Games
As an initiative aimed at building community and strengthening bonds between the Upper and Lower Schools at Glenelg Country School, Upper School students design and produce a series of games. These are presented to Lower School students on Halloween for everyone to enjoy!
Expedition
Each year, students work together to decide what their third project should be. This year, the class has chosen to hike the Appalachian Trail—an undertaking that will serve as a great test of their resilience, as well as their budgeting, public speaking, and pitch skills.
